I built this because I ran into a problem that I'm sure many people can relate to: I needed to update my resume. Again.

In 2025, I was laid off and found myself back in the job market. Like many people, I turned to AI for help — but the results were frustrating. It would invent details, exaggerate experience, and create resumes that sounded good but didn't actually represent me.

So I started building something better.

I created a system with guardrails designed to keep AI honest while helping me highlight the experience and skills I actually had. After refining it, I used the results to land interviews and secure contract opportunities. Now I want to share that same tool with others.

The job search process is difficult. Resumes often need to work through Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) before a hiring manager ever sees them, but your resume also needs to tell your real story to the person making the decision. The Jobsmith helps you do both: create a resume that accurately represents your experience while presenting your skills in a way that helps you stand out.

Yes, there is a small subscription fee for generating resumes. My hope is that you only need it when you need it — because the goal isn't to keep you job hunting. The goal is to help you get where you want to go.

What does The Jobsmith actually do?

You add your resume once and it's parsed into a Career Profile you can refine and grow over time. You search live roles pulled straight from employer career systems — each one verified open — plus broader aggregator listings when you want more reach. A fit analysis on any role shows your strengths and gaps before you commit. When a role fits, the forge writes a tailored resume, cover letter, and recruiter message, then checks the result against your profile so it stays true to what you've actually done.

Is my data safe?

Your resume and account are yours. We use essential cookies only — enough to keep you signed in — and no advertising trackers. You can delete your resumes or your whole account at any time from your account page. See the Privacy and Terms pages for details.

How does forging stay true to my experience?

The tailored resume is built only from what's in your uploaded resume. Every forge then goes through an automated check that makes sure each claim traces back to your original, so the polish never drifts from the truth of what you did. And if a job calls for something you don't have yet, it tells you up front — you'll always know exactly where you stand.

Does it tell me if a job is still open?

Yes. When you open your job history or a forged resume, it re-checks each posting against the employer's system and marks it live, closed, or unverified — so you don't spend effort on roles that are already gone.
